If a student reads 5 minutes a day by 6th grade, they will learn 282,000 words.
If a student reads 3,600 minutes in a school year, they will learn 1,800,000 words by 6th grade.
A Peek at Week 3/24 – 3/28
Literacy
This week we reviewed letters Q and U. We learned how to read words that have the “qu” sound and two new red words “are” and “want.”

Math
This week we have been working on Subtraction to 10. Read more about our subtraction unit here. Today we watched a fun book about the minus sign! The character is Linus the Minus. Ask your student if they remember him. His picture is below!
