Hello 2D, 

This is the final week of the reading challenge, I will collect the papers on Friday and give prizes next Monday.

After this week of studying the craft of informational writing, we will take the two weeks before April break to study specific animals and create dioramas of our animals’ habitats. If you have any shoe boxes kicking around, we will gladly take them!

See below for some important dates: 

April 2nd is World Autism Day and the student council is hosting a wear comfy clothes day (yes pajamas are acceptable!) as a reminder that autistic people may have a variety of sensory sensitivities.

We will have spring parent teacher conferences on April 29th, May 1st and 5th. 

We have two field trips to MV Museum to kick off our whale unit on April 3rd and 15th.

On May 27th, we will go to Polly Hill Arboretum.

Hi! Welcome! I am your 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. DeSouza. I was born and raised on Martha’s Vineyard and care deeply about this island and our community. I love the beach, hikes in nature, teaching and learning. I have two amazing daughters, a wonderful husband, and a pup named Rusty. Our assistant teacher is Ms. Brooke Bulawka, she is a MA certified teacher herself and has experience in grades k-8.  We can’t wait to meet you all and get to know you. ❤️
