Dear Edgartown School Families,
As you know, we have a staffing shortage that is significantly disrupting our transportation services. If your child rides the bus, we recognize the impact that this shortage has or will have on you and your family. Although we have resolved several issues, we are aware that more are going to arise when any of our current bus drivers need to take a day off.
The plan for when a bus driver needs to be out is to have another bus driver complete their usual run and then complete the route of the unstaffed bus route. This will cause the unstaffed bus route to be approximately 40 minutes late.
When this happens parents and guardians will have to bring students who ride the affected bus to the bus stop 40 minutes later than usual in the morning.
The plan for the end of the day is for these students to report to the library to wait for the bus to do the first run and then return to pick them up. They will be asked to do homework, read a book, draw, or talk quietly. A staff member will supervise them until they board the bus. Parents and guardians should plan on their children returning 40 minutes later than usual.
We will do our best to notify families as soon as we hear from the transportation department that a run at the Edgartown School will be affected. At this point, we have been notified of the following:

Oct. 6 a.m. and p.m. Bus #3
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We hope that the advanced notice helps if you wish to make alternate transportation and would rather not wait for the delayed bus. Teachers will be notified that some students will arrive 40 minutes late on these days. They will be marked Excused Tardy.

Como você sabe, estamos tendo uma escassez de motoristas que está atrapalhando significativamente nossos serviços de transporte. Se seu filho anda de ônibus, reconhecemos o impacto que essa escassez tem ou terá sobre você e sua família. Embora tenhamos resolvido vários problemas, estamos cientes de que mais surgirão quando qualquer um de nossos motoristas de ônibus atuais precisar tirar um dia de folga.
O plano para quando um motorista de ônibus precisar se ausentar é fazer com que outro motorista de ônibus complete sua corrida normal e, em seguida, complete o percurso da rota de ônibus sem funcionário. Isso fará com que a rota de ônibus sem motorista se atrase aproximadamente 40 minutos.
Quando isso acontecer, os pais e responsáveis terão que levar os alunos que andam no ônibus escolar afetado até o ponto de ônibus 40 minutos depois do horário normal pela manhã.
O plano para o final do dia é que esses alunos se apresentem na biblioteca para esperar o ônibus fazer a primeira viagem e depois voltar para buscá-los. Eles serão solicitados a fazer a lição de casa, ler um livro, desenhar ou falar em voz baixa. Um membro da equipe irá supervisioná-los até que eles embarquem no ônibus. Pedimos desculpas por qualquer inconveniente que isso possa causar. Esperamos que o aviso prévio ajude se você deseja fazer transporte alternativo e prefere não esperar o ônibus que irá atrasar. Os professores serão notificados de que alguns alunos chegarão com 40 minutos de atraso nesses dias. Eles serão marcados como Atraso Justificado.
